Building Succulent: A Journey Through Advocacy, Healing, and Sexual Wellness

It’s surreal to see Succulent come to life and to share it with others. I’ve poured so much of myself into creating a product that I not only believe in but that also fills a serious gap in the sexual wellness industry. But I realize this journey to Succulent didn’t start here. It has roots in experiences and passions that go back nearly 20 years.

For most of my adult life, I worked in the trenches of advocacy, helping sex workers find independence and safety in a world that often sees them as invisible. My mission was to guide women off the streets and into safer spaces, free from dangerous environments and exploitative relationships. I worked alongside teams of CPAs, lawyers, and even law enforcement to help these women find the stability they deserved—whether that meant establishing good credit, paying taxes, buying their first car, or creating a stable home for themselves and their children. This work was intense, but it showed me the resilience of women and deepened my dedication to wellness and independence.

My background in midwifery also contributed to my approach to Succulent. As an apprenticing midwife, I witnessed the power and beauty of women’s bodies, the challenges they endure, and the incredible strength they hold. In a world filled with products loaded with chemicals that harm more than help, I wanted to create a solution for sexual wellness that aligns with women’s natural rhythms and needs.

So, how did this path lead to making lube? I’m just tired of there being so few healthy options available. Women today are affected by conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, and other hormonal changes at unprecedented rates, and many of the products meant to help are loaded with chemicals that make things worse. Many lubricants out there are made by men, for men’s pleasure, and overlook women’s unique needs. The result? Products that irritate, burn, and even trigger infections. I wanted something different: a lube that not only works but truly feels good, and supports a woman’s body as it changes.

Succulent is for every body, but especially for women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond—women who are peaking in their sexual and body confidence, yet too often made to feel like the best years are behind them. I want to reduce the shame around menopause, vaginal dryness, and the other natural shifts we experience with age. There’s so much to be celebrated in this stage of life, and no reason why we shouldn’t have products that honor this.

In making Succulent, my goal is simple: to help fill the gaps in sexual wellness with care, experience, and a fierce commitment to what truly benefits women. My hope is to lay just a few planks across the gap, bridging what’s been missing in the world of sexual wellness and helping women feel not only safe and empowered but celebrated.

If you’ve ever felt the lack of options that truly honor your body, Succulent was made with you in mind. This journey is only just beginning, but it’s one that I’m honored to share with you all.
